Kelsey is a professional actor and director currently based in Virginia. She is classically trained in both Shakespeare and musical theatre.
A native of the Pacific Northwest, Kelsey honed her craft globally. She earned her BFA in Musical Theatre from Viterbo University and spent a semester abroad studying Shakespeare and Restoration comedy at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. That love of Shakespeare led her to graduate school and two master’s degrees in the Bard’s wordcraft. She holds an MFA (Directing Concentration) and MLitt from Mary Baldwin University. Her scholarship at MBU also led her to be a dual certification candidate with the National Michael Chekhov Association.
Interdisciplinary only begins to encapsulate Kelsey’s work. In addition to acting and directing, Kelsey has worn the many hats of music director, choreographer, dance captain, playwright, assistant director, stage manager, and producer. Perhaps her most cherished title is that of educator. Kelsey has worked extensively in children’s theatre and as a teaching artist for over a decade. Most recently, she was the Drama Specialist and Theatre Director at Wilshire Boulevard Temple Camps in California. She is currently a resident teaching artist and tour actor with The Wayne Theatre’s ReperTOURy program.

When not onstage, Kelsey spends her time knitting, hiking in the Shenandoah Valley, snuggling her maltipoo Gulliver, reading fantasy romance novels, and drinking bone-dry cappuccinos. She is slowly but surely making her way through the entirety of Sara J. Maas’ canon. Fun fact: Kelsey is a multi-award-winning barista!
